FREE! Petersham Gate Playground - Richmond Park

Us Londoners are a lucky bunch aren't we? Not only do we have a vibrant cosmopolitan and lively city steeped with history and overflowing with great architecture, hundreds of interesting things to see and diverse activities within easy reach, we also boast being one of the most greenest cities in the world. And who doesn't love a good park. Richmond Park is one of the largest parks in London and aside from the beautiful Isabella Plantation, stunning views and 650 deer roaming around, there is a lovely playground for the kids by Petersham Gate. Set within beautiful surroundings, it has a sizeable sand pit with water pump feature, large wooden climbing frame and varied playground equipment. We parked for free by Pembroke Lodge, wandered through the pretty gardens and down the hill towards the playground. You could just as easily get the bus which stops just outside the gate. Whichever way you get there, bring some food and drink as you could easily spend the whole day there.
