Historical Hampton Court Palace

This morning when we woke and looked outside, it was snowing. Still, that didn't stop us getting out. Several layers later and we were standing outside one of London's historical royal palaces. This imposing 16th century building is vast so you definitely need at least a half day to see everything properly and probably another half day to see the gardens! The rooms accessible to the public are well preserved, particularly the great hall, the kitchens and the Chapel Royal. There are items on display to show what Tudor life was like and plenty of facts available about the palace's most famous resident, King Henry VIII. HRP are currently offering half price entry tickets (see previous post or events calendar - must be booked ahead online) but the offer ends tomorrow so if you are stuck for something to do and feel like ticking this royal palace off your to-see list...may be worth an impromptu visit!
