FREE! Mum(mies) the Word at the British Museum

For me, the British Museum is one the most interesting museums in the city. As my eldest daughter is currently studying Ancient Egypt, this museum was on the cards for a visit at some point but when I found out that they also had some Ancient Egyptian arts and crafts workshops on this half term, I thought there was no time like the present! Today as part of the 'Celebrating Osiris' activity schedule, the kids created a barge for the Egyptian God made out of papyrus and made an Egyptian crown to celebrate his return! There are also story telling sessions and a trail to take part in but the kids were more interested in seeing the Egyptian artifacts. The girls walked around in awe and wonder taking in the Rosetta Stone, the Egyptian statues, sarcophagus', tombs and of course...the mummies! There is so much to see, that we decided to come back to the other ancient civilization collections another day!
