FREE! Windsor Great Park

And what a great park it is!! There are around 5,000 acres of beautiful parkland to discover. The whole park boasts vast lakes, beautiful gardens, woodlands, grasslands, impressive structures such as a totem pole and obelisk, herds of deer and the odd glimpse of the grand Windsor Castle. We visited just a snippet of the Great Park today but that was enough to keep the girls and their friends busy for a few hours. Whilst the small designated play area was close by (overlooking Obelisk Lawn) we decided to let the kids make the most of the great outdoors and they had loads of fun along the waters edge with logs, sticks and stones as well as hiding in the woodlands. A little cafe by the play area provided a much earned ice cream for the girls but it's well worth packing a picnic. We will definitely be visiting again - trying to cover a few more acres next time at least!
