FREE! Open House London - Boston Manor House & Park

For this year's Open House London Weekend freebie, we decided to stay local and visit a Jacobean Manor House that I must have gone past hundreds of times. Considering I have always lived within 5 miles of it in various directions, I have visited the beautiful park surrounding it but have never been inside Boston Manor House. The areas available to visitors are limited but some of the detail in architecture you are able to view is beautiful and it was incredibly interesting to learn about its almost 400 year history. The kids were given trail sheets to discover the house with which really helped the kids get involved. And of course with the lovely park surrounding it, it made for a wonderful Sunday afternoon. What I didn't know if that the lovely people of 'Friends of Boston Manor House' (http://www.fobm.org.uk/House.htm) often open the house to share it's history with everyone so you don't have to wait for OHL next year to visit and I would definitely recommend packing a picnic and enjoying the park in any case.
