FREE! The Gruffalo Trail on Horsenden Hill

'All was quiet in the deep dark wood...the girls found a trail and the trail looked good!' As I am sure it is for many children (and parents), The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson is a firm favourite in our household...I think all of us know the words of the book off by heart! So combining meeting some much loved characters and the great outdoors on a beautiful summers' day seemed like the perfect day out for us. While the trail itself can be completed fairly quickly, there are boards by each character to get children aware of the woodlands and interacting with nature. And with the addition of Horsenden Hill's views, woodland paths, trees to climb, kids playground and odd roaming cattle - take a picnic and spend the day here with the Gruffalo and his friends! There are also lots of Gruffalo, Gruffalo Child and Stick Man Trails around England...check out http://www.forestry.gov.uk/gruffalo for more ideas and locations.
