September

A weekend long event celebrating London's amazing architecture and design.  This annual event takes place over a weekend in the middle of September and allows you to visit some fantastic buildings...whether it's the cutting edge design of the Leadenhall Building (nicknamed the Cheesegrater) in the City of London or the beautiful White House in Ealing based on a Polish palace. Check whether you need to book, arrive early, queue up and marvel at the workmanship of these gorgeous buildings for free!

Celebrating the River that runs through the heart of our capital.  This festival runs throughout September and encompasses a range of activities including family fun, art, boats, open days and music.

River Thames

For four days in September, hundreds of places open their doors and allow the public to discover them for free.  The places on offer include private homes, castles, parks and open spaces, tunnels and windmills - there is something for everyone...so make the most of it and get out there and explore.

An annual community event held on the first Sunday of September every year.  The festival is held in Blondin Park and is free to enter and includes lots of activities, fair rides and refreshements from local businesses all while you are entertained by local musicians.

Brentford

A great way to spend a warm summer evening.  Pack some popcorn, a few nibbles and drinks, a blanket and something comfy to sit on and relax for a spot of alfresco movie watching.  There are lots of outdoor screens popping up all over the place so take a look at what's on offer and book early.  Check out thelunacinema.com, popupscreens.co.uk, whereisthenomad.com, rooftopfilmclub.com, backyardcinema.co.uk or get googling for alternative locations near you.

Various locations

From strawberries to sweetcorn, cherries to courgettes and pumpkins to peas - find a 'PYO' (Pick Your Own) site and let the kids see first hand how some of their favourite fruits and vegetables grow before you pick a few for your punnet and sample the delights.  There are a few places around London to do just this (Copas Farm and Garsons are a couple) but one of our favourites is Crockford Bridge Farm in Addlestone.

Addlestone and various locations

An extremely varied, weird and wonderful collection of shows held within their 'Paradiso' show tent.
