A tradition dating back to the 17th Century, this is an impressive military display to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen's official birthday.  The event is sometimes referred to as the Queen's Birthday Parade as following the pageant at Horse Guards Parade, the parade makes it way down The Mall to Buckingham Palace before ending with a fly-past by the RAF.

There are usually lots of local carnivals taking place in June but having grown up in Hanwell, this carnival is the one I enjoy the most!  It is believed to be one of London's oldest, dating back to 1898.  Every year, the carnival attracts thousands of visitors.  A lively parade makes its way through Hanwell to Elthorne Park where the fun really kicks off with a multitude of things to do including live music, food stalls, traditional stalls, animals, displays, a dog show to name just a few - you won't be disappointed!

A jam packed schedule of live entertainment.  Ranging from cabaret to family shows, comedy to theatre, there is bound to be something to suit everyone.  And even if you're not catching a show in the great big upside down purple cow auditorium, a lovely space to wander about and maybe catch a bite to eat or sip a drink or two.

Southbank

An extremely varied, weird and wonderful collection of shows held within their 'Paradiso' show tent.

From strawberries to sweetcorn, cherries to courgettes and pumpkins to peas - find a 'PYO' (Pick Your Own) site and let the kids see first hand how some of their favourite fruits and vegetables grow before you pick a few for your punnet and sample the delights.  There are a few places around London to do just this (Copas Farm and Garsons are a couple) but one of our favourites is Crockford Bridge Farm in Addlestone.
