Start the new year off with a bang!  This lively parade kicks off from Piccadilly at around 12pm and works its way past Trafalgar Square finishing on Whitehall.  From stilt walkers to marching bands and dancers to vintage cars, there is lots to see...great fun for all.  Make sure to get there early to get a good spot along the route.

As much fun for grown-ups as it is for kids.  Brimming with everything Christmassy, this is a must.  Open from November to January (check exact dates on their website).  From fairground rides and games to ice skating; a 60m ferris wheel to cosy bars; traditional Christmas market stalls to an Ice Kingdom; cheesy Christmas carols to a Victorian bandstand - there really is something for everyone.  Free to enter but all activities are chargeable.

Celebrate Chinese New Year in Central London.  The parade starts around 10am from Trafalgar Square to Chinatown with further acts and entertainment on the big stage in Trafalgar Square from 12pm.  Plenty to see in Chinatown.
